CHECK OUT INSTRUCTIONS:
The home that you have reserved will be stocked with a 'starter' supply of products including 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom and 2 rolls of paper towels in each kitchen. All of our rentals include linens and towels. When you arrive, the beds will be ready and made for your arrival with fresh, clean linens except the following: trundles, futons, sofa sleepers, and cots (although linens for these can be supplied upon request from you at least one week before your arrival). Each bed has a set of sheets with a blanket or comforter and usually even with a spare blanket per bed. If you require more blankets or towels, there will be a minimum charge of $25 for Water's Edge Rentals to bring you more.
Despite that you may have paid a cleaning fee depending on the property you have chosen to rent, Guests are, at a minimum, asked to complete the following at check-out which is always by 10am on the day of departure:
•Return furniture and electronics to original locations and operating conditions.
•Wash all dishes and/or start the dishwasher.
•Remove all food and trash from the home. Place trash in sealed plastic bags in proper receptacle(s).
•Appliances, counters and other surfaces wiped clean.
•Carpets and floors are to be broom cleaned of excessive debris.
•Leave the property generally as it was found.
•Call us if you are going to check out earlier than 10 a.m. so that our cleaning staff can arrive early if available.
Some Guests may choose to disregard this request if they are in a rush to depart. However, we must have prior notice if that will be the case. In that event, our cleaning staff will complete the above checklist on the Guest's behalf at a rate of $50 per hour plus a 9% Maine State Sales Tax. This will be deducted from the security deposit.
You may be charged up to $500.00 additional in the event of a violation of our "no smoking", "no pet", or if we find neglectful damages which occurred during the tenancy. Additional housekeeping charges will be applied in the event for the need of extra cleaning by our staff. We charge $50 per hour for additional cleaning above and beyond normal expected cleaning times for excessive dirt, messes, etc. We supply a departure procedure checklist in each home; these rules must be followed to avoid any additional charges. It's rare that we implement this and we hate to do it. Please treat the homes or cottages as if they belong to you and you'll have no troubles.
Our staff will arrive after your departure to thoroughly clean and inspect the property. They have very little time to complete the 'turnover' - so your assistance in attending the above tasks is critical to their success and meeting the exceptions of the next arriving vacationing Tenants at 3pm the same day, just like the person did before you arrived.
While we do not require you to do your own laundry/linens, it's always appreciated when even 1 load is started in the washing machine at a property that includes such!
